When fire ants attack, they initially grip their prey with their mandibles before injecting venom through a stinger. Their stings can be excruciating for most humans and potentially fatal for some, triggering severe reactions like sweating, nausea, or excessive itching, warranting immediate medical attention. The alkaloid venom they inject is highly irritating, causing red bumps, white pustules, and possible scarring.
